Fourth and Race apartments to alter Cincinnati skyline

Look closely to the left of the Carew Tower, behind 312 Plum and in front of the Hyatt. You can see we’ve dropped in a generic tower to give an idea of how Fourth and Race will change the skyline.
While not a major addition to the skyline from this angle it will do wonders for the vibrancy of West Fourth Street along with the approval of tax credits for a planned Marriott Renaissance to occupy the Bartlett Building. Crestview Hills, Kentucky based Columbia-Sussex will oversee the conversion of Bartlett.

PE recently documented the current site.
Below is the view of the site from the SEC of Race and Fourth. Note the lack of street orientation the late-1960’s era garage has even with first floor retail. The vehicular ramps and elevator shaft create dark areas isolated from the street. The tower portion of the project will sit at this end of the development.
This view is from the north looking through the vacant air space along Race Street where the dunnhumby Centre will rise next year. You can see the garage in the center beyond the red brick and glass of the Hyatt Hotel.
Looking south on Race from the NEC of Race and Fifth.
A vantage point looking at the southwest part of the structure from the SWC of Elm and Fourth. Again, note the complete lack of street orientation.
