Particularly Everything is just what the name implies. A few years back when PE was just a concept built on informing and educating the public we struggled over the best way to do this and with what content. In other words we couldn’t focus! This lack of focus became our identity. In the most humble way, we identified ourselves as omnologists.
The authoritative Urban Dictionary defines it this way:
A person with extensive knowledge in many areas, or with a formidable collection of general knowledge. An expert in many fields. One who seems to know everything. -Urban Dictionary
It’s a concept we didn’t invent (apparently Howard Bloom has characterized it best in his Omnology Manifesto). But we like the freedom it provides to go as broad as we do deep.
Omnology — “an academic base for the promiscuously curious, a discipline that concentrates on seeing the patterns that emerge when one views all the sciences and the arts at once.”
Sure we know the drawbacks of trying to be everything to everyone but we also want as many page views as possible. Our staff also thinks that if you visit our site to enjoy some great photography you may just learn a little more about politics; if you visit to read about the latest construction project you might walk away with a valuable history lesson.
In summary, we cover news and events, photography, politics, history, transportation, sports, living, dining, travel and even throw in a bit of humor. You’ll find most of our content is focused on Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky but we also like to learn about other places like Louisville, Portland, New York, New Orleans or even Savannah.
